Curtiss Kittyhawk MkIII of No.15 Squadron, Royal New Zealand Air Force, based on Guadalcanal island (Solomond group) during the summer of 1943.

It is intended For use with Charles Gunst's ECA (Enemy Coast Ahead) Panel. It uses the P-51B and Tempest slots,

To use, unzip the *.tpc files, the *.3dz files and the vcg_p51b file, and place in your EAW directory.

Captain Curt developed a completely new 3DZ model version of a wireframe of the P40 from Microprose's "1942: Pacific Air War" which brings it up to EAW standards.

This has been something of a community project, in the best spirit of the great EAW community. It is completely non-mirrored, courtesy of Rob Der Fuchs work. He contributed his solution to this, and Captain Curt was able to incorporate most of what he did. The entire fuselage and the insignia areas of the wings are separate. Capitan Manducas work for the landing gear doors and pilot tube was also used and incorporated into the new model.

Claudio Wilches has made the cockpit for this plane, with completely new interior and wing views. Clauadio also built the non mirrored view for the medium distance model and fixed a 3DZ problem with the cockpit height. Woolfman was responsible for first adding an EAW prop and transparency to the PAW model.

This is an updated version of the earlier Guadalcanal Kittyhawk skin by Jamie Richards. I just did a repaint of Captain Kurts's new P40 skin, retro fitted the cockpit, and fixed texture problems with the 3D model.

All the best!!!

Col. Gibbon.
